Track a parcel
Track any international parcel or letter, whether it's coming to Sri Lanka, leaving it, or travelling between other countries. Enter the number from the receipt or label.
Reading your tracking number
International post numbers have 13 characters: two letters, nine digits and two letters, for example EE123456785LK. The last two letters are the country it was posted from (LK is Sri Lanka, GB is the UK, US is the USA). The first letter is the service:
| Starts with | Usually means | Tracking |
|---|---|---|
| E | EMS express | End to end |
| C | Parcel (Air, SAL or Sea) | End to end in most countries |
| R | Registered letter or small packet | Key steps, with signature on delivery |
| L | Tracked small packet | Key steps |
| U | Small packet with a barcode | Limited, may stop after it leaves the country |
Not moving?
- New numbers can take 24 to 48 hours to show the first scan.
- Customs checks can hold parcels for several days with no new scans.
- Sea parcels can show no updates for weeks while at sea.
- If there's no update for more than 10 working days, contact the carrier you sent with and keep your posting receipt.
