Privacy policy
This policy explains what information LankaShip ("we", "us") collects when you use lankaship.toolmint.org and our Android app, and how it is used.
Information you give us
You don't need an account to use LankaShip. If you contact us by email or through the contact form, we receive your name, email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you and to fix any price you report. We keep messages for up to two years and then delete them, unless we need them to resolve an ongoing issue.
Information stored on your device
The calculator remembers your last destination country and open tab in your browser's local storage, so the page opens where you left off. This stays on your device; we never receive it. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
The countries, weights and values you type into the calculator are worked out in your browser. We do not send them to our servers.
On the Track a parcel page, the tracking number you enter is sent to our tracking service, which looks it up with tracking platforms (17TRACK, Ship24 and ParcelsApp) and the carriers. We don't link it to you or keep it beyond a short cache of about 20 minutes. When tracking runs through 17TRACK's widget or you open a carrier's link, that site's privacy policy applies. The map uses OpenStreetMap, which receives standard map-image requests. Your last five numbers are kept on your device so you can check them again, and you can clear them at any time.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These are used to keep the site running securely and are deleted after a short period.
We don't currently use analytics tools that track you across visits. If we start using one, we'll update this policy first.
Cookies and advertising
We may show advertisements to keep LankaShip free. Ads are provided by Google AdSense and other third-party vendors.

Links to other websites
We link to carriers' websites, such as SL Post and Colombo Mail. Their privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Children
LankaShip is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing info@toolmint.org. We handle personal data in line with Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022, and, where it applies to you, the data protection law of your country.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted on the home page.
